Weekend 1

Okay, we are officially one month in on the renovations!

While the kids and I are still in Texas until the end of school/work Kris and Jenn have been living in the house. Here's a quick rundown of the month in a week by week blog.

Kris drove down on Friday and we loaded the Uhaul that night.  Saturday morning we left Texas and drove to the farm house. Kris drive his company truck, Jen drove our 2010 Ford with Icee who was medicated for the trip, and I drove the Uhaul with Roxie.  The kids stayed with the grandparents this weekend.

The drive was pretty uneventful but it's not a McKinney move with something happening.  The Uhaul had an alignment issue and the steering wheel crooked and pulling to the left like madness the entire way.  The truck did not have the smoothest ride so Roxie and I's out of shapeness was giggling the whole way (just imagine every part of you moving when you don't want for 300 miles and laugh with me🙃)  On the outside of Seiling OK a random box out of Jenns' truck flew out, the deep fryer was a loss, some painting tools for Kris were scattered, and the XM radio for Scarlett's room came out.  We found most of it but the fryer was destroyed.  In Hennessy, Kris was fortunate to meet a lady peace officer for going over the posted speed limit.

Took us all of 40 minutes to unload the Uhaul and only one injury!  Jenn fell down the ramp and over some suitcases.  By this time we were all done for the day.  Kris and I went into Stillwater and had Piefive which I hadn't had since we lived in Fort Worth, and it was so great or as Kris said "I was just hungry".

The one renovation item I did this weekend was rip up that smelly gold carpet that was in Izayah's room to find Tile underneath.  This tile was the 80's pink tile squares with a linoleum roll out "rug" inlay.  This will be the first of many  "What in the world" statements we will have.
